You change the physical form of yourself or a willing touched creature. The subject must be a humanoid, monstrous humanoid, animal, magical beast, or giant.

You grant the creature the form of any humanoid, monstrous humanoid, animal, magical beast, or giant whose HD do not exceed your caster level. The chosen form must be no smaller than Tiny and no larger than Huge, and cannot have any templates applied to it.

The effect on the subject is as follows:

• Change size to that of the chosen form.
• Use the chosen form's Strength and Dexterity scores in place of your own.
  • (Modifiers from magic items, spells, class features, feats, and any other source do not apply.)
• The subject retains its original Constitution score and hit points.
  • (No healing effect occurs when the spell begins or ends; any damage sustained while polymorphed is retained when the effect ends.)
• Use the chosen form's perception types from natural or extraordinary abilities, but not supernatural or spell-like abilities.
• Use the chosen form's movement types instead of the subject's original movement types.
• Use the chosen form's natural or extraordinary attacks and special attacks.
• The subject loses its own extraordinary attacks and qualities that would be obviously impossible with the new form. For instance, if a squid were polymorphed into a human, it could not spray ink.
• If the chosen form cannot speak, the subject cannot speak, and therefore cannot cast spells with verbal components.
• If the chosen form cannot manipulate items, the subject cannot manipulate items, and therefore cannot cast spells with somatic components.
• By default, all equipment carried by the subject at the time of casting is subsumed into the subject's form. Thus, the subject has no access to any such equipment, including material components. Equipment that was dropped prior to casting, then picked up by the subject, is available as normal.
• No equipment is gained, even that which would be expected of the chosen form. Thus, a sheep polymorphed into a human would be unclothed. However:
• Clothing, armor, weapons, and other worn gear, including material components, can be retained at the time of casting, and even changed in appearance (but not function). Thus, an elf polymorphed into a drow could have darkened equipment that resembles drow equipment, and even retain his material components for spellcasting.
• Nothing further changes.
